As I was listening/reading to the three different I believe essays, it made me think about the different questions that we discussed in class. Out of the three essays I can relate to the third one the best because I also have a similar situation. My Nonna is also from Italy in a little town called Calabria. She was also the only girl out of all her siblings. She cannot speak English very well and came over to America after she married my grandfather. After they came to America my grandfather opened a bakery that my Nonna worked at. My grandparents came in as immigrants and worked their way into owning a business and earning a living. My grandmother has taught me how to make true "Italian Gravy" (pasta sauce) and showed me different ways to make things with the ingredients that are round the house. I feel that the it is similar to the one that was discussed in the third essay because it shows how both the woman's grandmother and mine, went from having very little in the beginning to gaining so much in the end. Both of our grandmother's became educated in something, the author's in a factory store and mine in a bakery.
